Sunday services last approximately one hour. The core of the service is the Bible Lesson Sermon for the week from The Christian Science Quarterly. (You can also find this Lesson Sermon online at www.ebiblelesson.com.)
During the service, congregational hymn-singing, silent prayer, The Lord's Prayer, and a sacred solo are interwoven with listening to Scriptural messages read from the desk. Organ music from a wide variety of composers and traditions welcomes people as they arrive and follows the closing benediction.
Wednesday evening meetings begin with readings from the Bible and from Science and Health -- selected by the reader to address a particular topic -- sometimes a news event, sometimes a universal concern, always a pathway to a clearer understanding of God's power and goodness.
A substantial portion of these Wednesday meetings is reserved for spontaneous sharing. People in the congregation give gratitude for practical answers resulting from their prayers -- for health restored, protection, help when in trouble, or for needed companionship or supply.
